One week later, here I am with my review for the 89th Academy Awards (and yes, I will be discussing THAT moment!).
For starters, this review took me a long time because I wasn´t sure if I wanted to write it or not. Don´t get me wrong I love movies but I feel as if the ceremonies have become to political for my taste and along the way we have a lost a little of what made these shows so great: the oportunity to celebrate talent and dedication. So here are the moments I loved and those that while I didn´t necesarily hated felt like they were a little overdone and just plain boring and-or akward.
Glitz. Glamour. Movies. This sunday Los Angeles becomes, even more so than usual, a city of stars with the 89th Academy Awards, a show where actors, actresses, directors and anybody who is part of the movie industry in Hollywood gathers to conmemorate and celebrate the passion and dedication of the stars; which in turn reflects a wonderfull job and and a great year in movies.
Here it´s part II of my GRAMMY post; those categories that do not have my pick is because that genre of music is not really my style or I didn´t know who to vote for.
Sorry that this post is kinda late but my internet crashed last night and just came back up this morning.
tThe biggest music event of the season is finally here and aside from The Academy Awards, which are probably my favorite of the whole Award Season shows, the GRAMMYs ceremony is the most expected for music lovers; a show where la crème de la crème of music gathers around in fancy suits and gowns to collect shiny awards and congratulate each others on a job well done.
This year the ceremony will be hosted by James Corden (isn`t that great!) and will be broadcasted by CBS and TNT (if you live in latin america like I do). However most of the awards will be handed out in the first part of the show, which will not be broadcasted since it takes place next door to the staples center; meaning that the stars who have been nominated for a lot of categories will have to go from venue to venue very fast without tripping on their gowns.
But enough with the chit-chat, here is the full list of nominees along with my pick to win and with the awards that have already been asigned.
In a new development in the never-ending Kardashian- Blak Chyna feud is it reported that the couple is already over; after Kardashian deleted all of his instagram pictures, Chyna took to her´s to post a misterious quote that hints at a breakup. While is not a secret that Robert doesn´t always look eye-to-eye with his famous family, he took it to a whole new level when he started dating Chyna, who is none other than Tyga´s ex (Kylie´s much older boyfriend) and the mother of his child. For many in the family (shall we recall the Chyna- Khloé twitter feud) this was completely out of line since you should never mess with members of the family, however it´s reported that this couple is already over; the cause: we don´t really know, but acording to a source close to them the suposed "breakup" happened because of the amount of time they were spending together and how it felt that it was too serious already (that is possibly the worst reason for a breakup, but they are unconventional so...) but that is not a final break; so who knows maybe they´ll be back together soon and the Tyga-Chyna-Kardashian ball will just keep on rolling.
Does Scott Disick miss Kourtney Kardashian?
Last month, days after they split, he had told friends he was "doing good." During an appearance at a Las Vegas nightclub last week, Disick, 32, seemed more ambivalent while talking to reporters.
On Friday night, Disick posted on his Instagram page a photo that was taken at the wedding of J.J. Corsini, a friend of his Kourtney's brother Rob Kardashian, and Elizabeth Condon. It shows him holding a place card that reads, "Scott Disick Guest."
"When u realize the grass isn't always greener," he said.
Kourtney has not commented.
"Go get your Beautiful Girl and wonderful family back @letthelordbewithyou," one user told Disick.
"GET HER BACK IM CRYING," another person said.
The 36-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and mother of their three children had broken up with Disick around the Fourth of July holiday after he had engaged in a month-long partying bender and was photographed in Monte Carlo looking cozy with an ex-girlfriend. He has not commented about the pics.
After the split, he reportedly partied in Miami and last week, he attended club parties in Las Vegas and in Canada, where he was photographed with two female workers, or "cowbabes." Also last week, he and Kourtney reunited for lunch with son Mason Disick, 5, and Penelope Disick, 3.
Everyone knows that moment. You know, that moment when you're hanging out with a guy who's just kind of cute and everything is going totally normal and you're completely in control and then he does something unexpectedly that's totally not a big deal but for some reason it makes him a billion zillion times hotter in .05 seconds flat and makes you want to fall on the floor fanning yourself from all the feels?
Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by Serena Van der Woodsen.
Is no secret that for years everbody wanted to be on the Upper East Side, at least on Gossip Girl, because who didn´t want to have a secret blogger posted and, in some ways stalking your every move, but if you were Blair Waldorf or Serena Van der Woodsen that was not a problem, the more you were spotted on a GGBlast the better.
However for Blake Lively playing Serena got to be a little too much. In the may issue of Allure Magazine Blake adresses her lingering feelings for Gossip Girl, the show/ iconic piece of art that made her famous.
"people loved it, but it always felt a little personally compromising - you want to be putting a better message out there", she said. A better message?! What could possibly be a better message than " wear glittery halter tops at 8:00 a.m so you too can get an intership with David O. Russell when you´re not even remotely qualified for it?
Still, for Blake, it felt like beign on TV for so long, playing the same character, caused people to confuse her with Serena Van der Woodsen, which she, for some reason believes is a bad thing. " It´s a weird thing when people feel like they know you really well, and they don´t". She explained. " I would not be proud to be the person who gave someone drugs that made them overdose and then shot someone and slept with someone else´s boyfriend".
Yeah, but that those were mostly accident, and if Serena ever shot somebody, we certainly don´t remember. The Nate hookup was indefensible though. Hadn´t Serena ever heard of girl code?
Spotted: Chuck Bass is making his way to L.A.
That´s right, Ed Westwick AKA Chuck Bass, Upper East Side Bad Boy Billionaire is coming back to TV.
The Gossip Girl alum has been cast as one half of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style pair of serial killers in ABC’s L.A. Crime pilot, Even better? The Bonnie to his Clyde will be played by Parenthood star Erika Christensen. We now live in a world where Chuck Bass and Julia Braverman-Graham are chillin' like villains and we love it. Playing the two detectives in the potential true crime procedural are Gabriel Luna and Adam Rothenberg, with American Horror Story's Taissa Farmiga, Darrell Brit-Gibson and Karolina Wydra also set to star in the project written by Steven Baigelman. If greenlit, the drama will look at several facets of L.A. culture — including sex and politics — in various time periods.
But these are not the only good news for Gossip Girls fans like me, because Chase Crawford AKA Golden Boy Nate Archibald is also making his way back to TV with him landing a leading role in ABC's Boom. The drama series will follow the biggest oil discovery in American history, which triggers an economic shift in North Dakota not seen since the 1849 California Gold Rush. Crawford will play Billy, a "hustler" of a man who experiences hardships when he tries to move to North Dakota with his wife to reap the benefits.
All in all, Ed Westwick‘s latest role makes Chuck Bass look like a do-good choirboy, but that doesn´t mean that we will love him any less than when he was, as I previously said Upper East Side Bad Boy Billionaire.
And Disney couldn´t just let it go.
Remember Frozen? The most profitable animated film of all time? The one that spawned the song you only just managed to get out of your head? Well, it turns out there's going to be another one.
Disney has officially announced a sequel. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who co-wrote and co-directed the original, will return, and the original cast are also expected to reprise their roles. Kristen Bell should at least be involved, based on a tweet she sent out earlier.
All cynicism aside, there's nothing wrong with this news. Frozen made a lot of kids happy, along with some weird adults. A sequel will just give parents another two hours of peace on any car trip. If you're holding on to some principled objection to the idea of this sequel, I have one piece of advice for you: reindeer are better than people. Wait, wrong song. Let it go.
